This award funds the set up one wireless site near the tribal headquarters in Perkins, Oklahoma and completes the RF Engineering Design for a hybrid fiber/wireless Broadband System Deployment.

The Broadband Infrastructure Deployment project incorporates the following activities:
- Applicant will contract with an engineering firm to identify a location for a 2.5 GHz broadband tower.
- Upon completion of the planning portion of the project, contract with Specialty Telecommunications Services (STS) to construct and manage new wireless tower.
- Complete RF engineering study for system design supported by fiber construction by STS.
- Last-mile connection for community anchor institutions within minimum 25/3 Mbps.
This project’s beneficiaries will be Tribal community anchor institutions and 450 Tribal members, 203 of which are below the 150% federal poverty level.
