Project activities include:
Conducting a community assessment to document levels of and barriers to increasing broadband use and adoption;
Providing network connection equipment to approximately 250 Tribal households, and end-user devices to approximately 100 Tribal households;
Establishing a public computer center with fiber access at the Chitimacha Distance Learning Center; and
Conducting broadband use and adoption training and other courses for Tribal members.
This project will:
- Provide broadband use and adoption training courses to improve capability among tribal members; and
- Enable Tribal members to receive and access qualifying broadband services.
The Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana will conduct a community broadband and digital skills assessment, provide network connection equipment to approximately 250 Tribal households and end-user devices to 100 households, establish a public computer center, and offer broadband use and adoption and skills training.
