The project proposes the following activities designed to improve access to, and use of, broadband services among Tribal members:
- Install a 19-mile EPON and hybrid fiber coaxial FTTP network to connect unserved Native American households and community anchor institutions with qualifying broadband service at speeds ranging from 200/10 Mbps to 1000/500 Mbps.
This project will improve Tuscarora Nation members’ ability to engage in remote learning and telework and accommodate numerous members of a household or small business simultaneously using bandwidth-intensive applications, such as video conferencing, telemedicine, video streaming, gaming, and virtual or augmented reality.
The project intends to benefit all unserved Tuscarora Nation households and Tuscarora Nation Tribal members who utilize the community anchor institutions to be connected by the project.
