Project Purpose/Type:
The Broadband Infrastructure Deployment project proposes to install fiber and fixed wireless to directly connect 39 unserved Tribal households, 6 unserved Tribal businesses, and 10 unserved Tribal community anchor institutions with qualifying broadband service between 25/3 Mbps and 100/20 Mbps.

The project proposes the following activities designed to improve access to, and use of, broadband services among Tribal members:
- Install 5.59 miles of underground fiber to directly connect 31 unserved Tribal households, 6 unserved Tribal businesses, and 8 unserved Tribal community anchor institutions with service ranging from 50/10 Mbps to 100/20 Mbps.
- Install/deliver 3.5 GHz (CBRS) spectrum fixed wireless to directly connect 8 unserved Tribal households and 2 unserved Tribal community anchor institutions with service ranging from 25/3 Mbps to 50/10 Mbps.
- Construct a pole at Camp Antelope to provide wireless coverage to the community.
- Create 2 new Tribal jobs. Provide workforce development training for the Network Coordinator and Field Technician positions.
This project will expand access to telehealth, remote work, and distance learning, improve safety and monitoring of public housing, anchor institutions, cultural sites, and Tribal facilities, and enable the Lone Pine Paiute-Shoshone Tribe to conduct virtual general council meetings.
The project intends to benefit all unserved and underserved Lone Pine Paiute- Shoshone households, businesses, anchor institutions, Lone Pine Paiute- Shoshone residents that utilize public services, and two Tribal members who will receive workforce training.
