This Broadband Infrastructure Deployment project proposes to purchase equipment that will be used for the construction and maintenance of a future fiber network and to train Nooksack staff in the use and handling of fiber installation equipment and network equipment.

Infrastructure Deployment activities include:
- Purchase equipment necessary to construct a future fiber network, including but not limited to a directional drill, mini excavator, utility bucket truck and utility reel carrier, fusion splicer, and strand c-lasher.
- Conduct a 15-day buried and aerial fiber installation and maintenance training for 7 Tribal members.
The Nooksack Indian Tribe will be positioned to commence fiber deployment immediately upon securing future funding and will have a dedicated Tribal workforce in place to install and maintain the future fiber network.
The equipment purchase and training portions of this project intend to benefit more than 261 low-income Tribal households and 6 community anchor institutions in Whatcom County by preparing the Tribe for construction of a local high-speed internet network to service these locations.
