Project Purpose/Type:
This Planning, Engineering, Feasibility, and Sustainability Studies project will support a 10G copper design project intended for deployment in 2023. The Scope of Work for the Shivwits connectivity project encompasses the design of a fully connected broadband internet system, servicing the Shivwits Reservation through the integration of Single-mode fiber connection of all residential Tribal housing and major buildings of the Tribal complex, and multiple wireless mesh networks to provide broadband service to outdoor areas including the RV park, Shivwits Park, and the recreation area at the lake by the Kaiva/Essentia Team.

The project proposes the following activities:
- Administrative and legal expenses.
- Land, structure, rights-of-way, appraisals.
- Architectural and engineering fees.
- Other architectural and engineering fees.
This funding will ensure that the Shivwits Band of Paiutes is successful in providing quality internet service to every home, business, and government building within the reservation.
The area to be served is at the base of the Red Mountains and the service area includes 40 homes, a health clinic, community center, gas station, and a market.
