Project Purpose/Type:
The Broadband Infrastructure Deployment project proposes to install high- speed fiber optic and wireless broadband facilities directly connecting 800 unserved Native American households, plus 50 medium/large-sized businesses, 200 small/home office businesses, and approximately 50 community anchor institutions such as schools, libraries, police and fire departments, and community colleges with qualifying broadband service at speeds up to 100/20 Mbps service.

The project proposes the following activities designed to improve access to, and use of, broadband services among Tribal members:
- Construct an 82-mile high-speed fiber optic network.
- Install wireless equipment to households using EBS/2.5 GHz links with 5G ready architecture.
- Directly connect community anchor institutions such as libraries, schools, police and fire departments, and community colleges.
This project will:
- Bring high speed, reliable, affordable, secure, and flexible broadband services to 800 unserved Native American households, plus 50 medium/large-sized businesses, 200 small/home office businesses, and approximately 50 community anchor institutions such as elementary and middle schools, libraries, police and fire departments, 2 community colleges, and 2 community resource centers.
- Boost economic development and employment opportunities.
- Create 2 new positions: 1 full-time General Manager; 1 part-time Assistant General Manager; and 1 part-time accountant.
- Decrease subscriber costs by $17.00/month.
- Bridge the digital divide.
- Ensure a thriving community continues to grow.
- Improve the overall quality of life of Tribal residents.
The project intends to benefit Tribal residents, first responders, students, educators, community services personnel and users, library users, healthcare providers and their patients, employers and employees, job seekers, and entrepreneurs.
