The project proposes the following activities designed to improve access to, and use of, broadband services among Tribal members:
- Construct a broadband network consisting of four new 80-foot communication towers, two new 120-foot communication towers, 14 leased towers, and intermittent fiber to deliver 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz fixed wireless to 1,194 unserved households at qualifying speeds of 25/3 Mbps or greater.
- Procure and install customer premises equipment.
This project will provide immediate broadband access for unserved and underserved end users, telemedicine, remote learning, and small business support. The Tribe is also exploring creating a Tribal Utility program to consolidate their utility services under one entity.
The project intends to benefit all unserved Ute Indian Tribe households and community anchor institutions.
