The Broadband Access and Expansion Act (SB 93) was signed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on April 7, 2021, establishing the Office of Broadband Access and Expansion within the Department of Information Technology to serve as the state’s point of contact for broadband-related activities.

Digital Equity/Inclusion Resources:

Wi-Fi in Neighborhoods: The Department of Technology and Innovation administers the City of Albuquerque’s Wi-Fi in Neighborhoods initiative. The public may use their wireless devices to access free Internet at many indoor and outdoor public facilities.

 

Stay Connected from Home: The Department of Senior Affairs provides digital training resources for seniors. The department partnered with Adelante DiverseIT for digital literacy group classes and Teeniors® for personalized one-on-one technology tutoring.

 

Library Computer Classes: The public libraries offer computer classes for adults to provide one-on-one support with digital basics, resume building, and computer training in English and Spanish.
