Broadband Infrastructure Deployment

Expanding America’s broadband connectivity is critical to our nation’s economy, and a top priority for President Trump and the Department of Commerce. Today, we join with our partners in government to announce the American Broadband Initiative (ABI), a comprehensive effort to stimulate increased private sector investment in broadband.

Join BroadbandUSA on March 20, 2019 to learn about the newly launched American Broadband Initiative and Milestones Report, which details the Administration’s strategy to expand broadband connectivity across the country. NTIA will provide an overview of the Initiative’s goals and will be joined by officials from key Agencies who are contributing to its mission.

Many small communities across the country struggle to bring advanced broadband to their residents.  What they lack in size, they often make up with diversity of their economies, populations, geography, and technology providers.  Public-private partnerships (PPP) can help local government and businesses pool their resources and technical expertise to deliver cutting-edge services to citizens. 

NTIA's BroadbandUSA Program hosted a broadband workshop in Reno, Nevada on Friday, September 27, 2019. The purpose of the workshop was to engage the public and stakeholders with information to accelerate broadband connectivity, improve digital inclusion, and support local priorities. The workshop provided information on topics including local broadband planning, funding, and engagement with service providers.
