The Broadband Infrastructure Deployment project proposes to install fiber directly connecting 418 unserved Native American households, 22 community anchor institutions, and 10 Tribal businesses with speeds from 25/3 Mbps up 100/10 Mbps.

The project proposes the following activities designed to improve access to, and use of, broadband services among Tribal members:
- The Walker River Paiute Tribe Historic Preservation Officer will complete all natural resource and cultural assessments as required.
- Obtain required permits and approval.
- Deploy FTTH/wireless hybrid broadband infrastructure.
- Confirm the capability of 100 Mbps of service to each covered location.
- Deploy wireless network plans.
This project will:
- Connect 418 unserved Native American households, 22 community anchor institutions, and 10 Tribal businesses with robust, affordable, scalable, and future-proofed Internet service up to 100/10 Mbps.
- Create 4 jobs, including positions to install broadband infrastructure equipment and to technically maintain the new system and provide customer support.
- Increase civic participation.
- Offer workforce development and training through the Tribe’s Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance Office, Department of Education, and the project contractor CC Communications.
- Improve telework, telehealth, and educational opportunities.
- Measurably increase economic development opportunities.
- Decrease employment insecurity.
The project intends to benefit Tribal residents, Tribal elders, students and educators, employers and employees, job seekers, entrepreneurs, healthcare providers and their patients, Government staff, and citizens.
