Project Title:
Middle Mile Grant Program

Funding Program:
Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program

Project Purpose/Type:

Hawaiian Telcom, Inc.’s Middle Mile Grant project proposes to build an economically and environmentally sustainable, open access middle mile infrastructure consisting of four undersea routes, three of which are along the northern side of the Hawaiian Islands and one which connects Ford Island to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, totaling 295 miles of fiber. The network is designed to establish a new northern fiber path above the islands of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and Hawaii that will play a critical role in enhancing network resiliency.
