Project Purpose/Type:
This Broadband Infrastructure Deployment project proposes to connect 59 unserved households and one community anchor institution to qualifying broadband service ranging from 25/3 Mbps to 50/10 Mbps via an FTTH and fixed wireless network, and to upgrade an existing microwave middle-mile network.

Infrastructure Deployment activities include:
- Construct a 0.5-mile fiber network to connect 21 tribal households and one community anchor institution to qualifying service.
- Erect a 30-foot utility pole and outfit with LTE equipment to provide 2.5 GHz fixed wireless service to 38 unserved tribal households.
- Deploy 0.5 miles of aerial fiber backhaul running from the Tribal Center to a RAN site.
Replace current microwave backhaul with a high-capacity microwave transport network operating at 11 GHz.
This Infrastructure Deployment project will:
- Provide reliable internet access of up to 50/10 Mbps to 59 unserved Native American households and one community anchor institution.
- Improve the Makah community’s ability to receive essential services.
This project intends to benefit 38 unserved households at the Wa’Atch Beach Drive site, 21 unserved households in the Sail River Housing Complex, and all tribal members that utilize the services of the Makah Wellness Center.
