The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has awarded federal funding to Pima County to create a 134.61-mile open access fiber middle mile ring around the County’s urban core. The Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) evaluates the Proposed Action and the No Action Alternative. The Proposed Action Alternative and No Action Alternative have been assessed based on the NTIA’s Guidance on NTIA National Environmental Policy Act Compliance. NTIA will accept written comments on the Draft EA during the public comment period, which extends from March 30th, 2026 through April 29th, 2026.
