IIJA Broadband Program Pre-NOFO Technical Assistance Webinar 3

On April 6, staff from NTIA’s Office of Internet Connectivity and Growth (OICG) held the third technical assistance webinar prior to the release of the Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act broadband programs. On November 15, 2021, President Biden signed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. This Act includes a significant investment of $65 billion to help close the digital divide and ensure that all Americans have access to reliable, high speed, and affordable broadband.

National Broadband Availability Map Reaches 40 State, U.S. Territory Participants

Over the last few months, NTIA’s National Broadband Availability Map (NBAM) has added Nevada, Louisiana, American Samoa, and Puerto Rico to its growing roster of participants. To date, the NBAM includes 38 states, two U.S. territories, and five federal agencies: US Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), the Economic Development Administration (EDA) and the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC).

NTIA Grant Program: Connecting Minority Communities Webinar, Session 6

On September 22 and 23, staff from NTIA’s BroadbandUSA program provided further detail regarding the Connecting Minority Communities (CMC) Pilot Program. The CMC Pilot Program will provide $268 million in grant awards to eligible Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs), Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs), Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs), and consortia applicants in anchor communities for broadband Internet access service, eligible equipment, or to hire and train information technology personnel.
